In this article, I will give a detailed explanation on how to remove ‘all’ those unsolicited emails in Gmail before you even see it.
Precisely, as it mentioned in principle is known as spam, spam or unwanted. These mails come to an unknown sender and its content may include advertisements either to promote a page, product, service, download software, etc.
This is annoying and not only that … it is also something that we should be careful, since visiting any link or links contained in these ‘spam’ can expose the security of our computers or mobile devices (most used today in day).
Without going into details see how to delete the spam. I will use the filter messages that Gmail offers us to successfully complete this process.
Steps to Filter and Delete Spam in Gmail
- Select the message (s) to be filtered: Check the box to the left of the spam.
- Click on the button “More” .
- Select the “Filter messages like” option.
- Here it appears mailing address filter in the “From:” We can add more addresses separating them by commas. Then press under the option “Create filter with this search criteria”
This step as well as the previous one are the most important. Here Gmail lets you select the actions or “criteria” to make, in the case of a spam criteria we choose is “delete”.
With this we will get the next messages from that sender to be automatically deleted. Additionally if we delete the emails already received, you must select “Also apply filter to conversations that meet the criteria” .
Finally , press the blue button “Create Filter” and that’s it!
This is the easiest way to be able to permanently delete spam emails in gmail. There are also other ways to do it, for example, from the general mail settings, but I considered showing it this way to fulfill the purpose of keeping our email clean. I hope it is useful.
