This post is about DCOM server process launcher service, Device setup manager service, Device install service, DNS client Windows system services:
1) DCOM server process launcher service: DCOM (Distributed Component Object Model) server process launcher Windows service is used for starting DCOM servers and processes. If this service is disabled then, application depending on DCOM will not work.
2) Device setup manager service: Device setup manager Windows service is used for automatic downloading and installing of device drivers and other device software. If this service is disabled then, device drivers will not be updated automatically.
3) Device install service: Device install Windows service is used for plug and play of devices in Windows computer. It is used by Windows for detecting and installing new hardware. If this service is disabled then, new hardware will not work in your computer.
4) DNS client service: DNS client Windows service is used for resolving a domain name to an IP address. It keeps a list of domain names with their corresponding IP addresses in its local cache. If this service is disabled then, domain names and IP addresses pairs will not be cached and services which depend on DNS will not work.
