This post is about Base filtering engine, Credential manager, Computer browser, Cryptographic Services Windows system services:
1) Base filtering engine: Base filtering engine Windows service is used for providing support for IPsec (Internet Protocol security), firewall and Windows filtering. If you disable this service then IPsec, firewall and filtering will not work and your computer will become vulnerable to malware and other threats.
2) Credential manager: Credential manager Windows service is used for saving and retrieving usernames and passwords. If this service is disabled then the credentials like usernames and passwords will no be stored in the Windows computer.
3) Computer browser: Computer browser Windows service is used for maintaining a list of computers in the network. This list is kept updated. Users can use this list to access any computer in their network.
4) Cryptographic Services: Cryptographic Services is used for maintaining encryption, private keys, certificates, and signatures for software, programs and applications in the Windows computer. If this service is disabled then encryption tasks will not work in your Windows computer.
