Reliability monitor is a tool in Windows 8 which can be used for checking reports of application failures, Windows failures, miscellaneous failures, warning information, software and hardware problems, issues and for checking computer reliability and stability in Windows 8.
To access Reliability monitor, please follow the below given steps:
1) Go to: Charms bar –> Search –> Type reliability under “Settings” –> Click on “View reliability history” icon on the left side. This will open the Reliability monitor. Here, you can see the reports of the stability index which is a metric of the stability of your system on a scale from 1 to 10. You can see this report on a daily basis or on a weekly basis. “i” icon in the report represents the Informational events occurred, “X” icon represents the critical events or failures occurred in that time frame, and yellow exclamation mark represents warning messages. To view more details, click on the date where you see a “i” or “X” or a yellow exclamation icon. Then click on “View technical details” under “Actions”.
2) To save this report in a XML format click on “Save reliability history” link at the bottom of the page.
3) Click on “View all problem reports” to the see reports which are sent to Microsoft.
4) Click on “Check solutions for all problems” link to check for solutions to all the problems of your computer found out by Reliability monitor. When you click on the link a “Problem Reporting” window will pop up which will check for solutions. When it is finished, these solutions will be listed in Action Center. To access Action Center, go to: Charms bar –> Settings –> Control Panel –> Select “Small icons” for “View by” drop down menu –> Click on “Action Center”.
