To personalize, change settings of keyboard in Windows 8, follow these steps:
1) Go to: Charms bar –> Settings –> Control Panel –>
2) Select “Small icons” from “View by:” drop down menu on the right side.
3) Click on “Keyboard”.
Here are some settings which you can adjust as per your needs in the “Speed” tab in “Keyboard properties” dialog box:
a) Repeat Delay: This setting is for the time delay of retyping the same key automatically when you hold it. Ideally, you should put it in middle because not many times you need to keep a key to hold down for retyping.
b) Repeat Rate: This setting is for the speed of retyping the same key automatically when you hold it.
c) You can also check the speed of retyping by clicking and typing and holding a key in the filed “Click here and hold down a key to test repeat rate”.
d) Cursor Blink Rate: This is for setting up how fast the cursor blinks in a particular document.
