In Windows 7, you can optimize any folder for the given type of templates: general items, documents, pictures, music, and videos. The advantage of optimizing a folder based on a template is that when you are working with these folders then you have specific options based on the type of folder in the pane. For Example, if it is a Music folder then, “Play All” option is provided or if it is a Pictures folder then, a “Slide Show” option is provided.
To optimize a folder for general items, documents, pictures, music, videos in Windows 7, follow the below given steps:
1) Go to Windows Explorer.
2) Right click on any folder for which you want to optimize based on templates.
3) Click on “Properties”.
4) Go to Customize tab.
5) Under “What kind of folder do you want”, from drop down menu “Optimize this folder for” select any option as per your requirements from: General items, Documents, Pictures, or Music Videos.
6) Select option “Also apply this template to all subfolders” to optimize all the subfolders.
7) Click on “Apply” and then, “OK”.
