On-Screen Keyboard is a virtual keyboard which can be accessed by using your mouse. You can click on the buttons in the On-Screen Keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard is helpful if your regular keyboard is not working at the moment.
To change settings of On-Screen Keyboard in Windows 7, follow the below given steps:
1) To enable On-Screen Keyboard, click on Start button and then All Programs. After that, click on Accessories and then click on Ease of Access. Then, click on On-Screen Keyboard.
2) Click on “Options” button in On-Screen Keyboard. In Options dialog box,
i) Use click sound: Check this option if you like a click sound when you click one of the keys in On-Screen Keyboard.
ii) Turn on numeric keypad: Check this option if you want to enable numeric keypad.
iii) To use the On-Screen Keyboard: You can use the On-Screen Keyboard either by “Click on keys” option, by “Hover over keys” option, or by “Scan through keys” option. If you select “Hover over keys” option, then you can select the hover duration. “Scan through keys” option can be used with joystick, game pad, gaming devices, keyboard, or by mouse click. You can select the option as per your needs. If you select the keyboard option, then you can select any key from: Space Bar key, Enter key, and any key from F2 to F12.
iv) Text prediction: Check option “Use Text Prediction” to enable text prediction and check option “Insert space after predicted words” to add spaces between predicted words. For Example, when I click on mo in On-Screen Keyboard, you can see the predicted text at the top:
v) Control whether the On-Screen Keyboard starts when I log on: Click on this link if you want to start On-Screen Keyboard automatically when you log in to your computer. Then, check option “Use On-Screen Keyboard”. Click on “OK”.
3) Click on OK in Options dialog box.
