You can change the character repeat delay, repeat rate, and cursor blink rate for your keyboard in Windows 7. Follow the below given steps:
1) Click on Start menu and then click on Control Panel.
2) In Control Panel, from the right side, select “Small icons” from “View by” drop down menu.
3) Then, click on “Keyboard”.
4) Under Speed tab,
i) Repeat delay: Repeat delay is the time delay in the repetition of characters when you press and hold a key on the keyboard. If you can type fast, then you should slide the cursor towards the “Short” side and if you type slow then, you should slide the cursor towards the “Long” side.
ii) Repeat rate: It is used for setting the repeat rate of characters when you press and hold a key on the keyboard. The recommended setting is to set the repeat rate as “Fast”. However, you can also drag the slider towards the “Slow” end, as per your requirements.
iii) Click here and hold down a key to test repeat rate: This field can be used for testing the repeat rate you selected.
iv) Cursor blink rate: You can use this slider for setting up the blink rate of the cursor.
5) Click on “Apply” and then “OK”.
