Windowing or Viewing is a process to view a picture or an object from many views. An image is stored in the memory of the computer in a Cartesian coordinate system typically known as World Coordinate System. When the same picture is seen in a display device it is displayed in physical device coordinate system. Now, there must be a map or a transformation from one coordinate system to another to see the image in the display device. The concept of viewing transformation is used to map the World Coordinates to Physical device coordinates.
